The International Union for Conservation of Nature is the world’s largest and most diverse environmental network comprised of both government entities and civil society organizations. This global member union harnesses the experience, resources and reach of its over 13,000 experts on species survival, environmental law, protected areas, social and economic policy, ecosystem management, and education and communication. Their mission: activate the knowledge and tools that enable human progress, sustainable economic development and nature conservation to take in tandem.
As Media Coordinator for IUCN Oceania during the World Conservation Congress, I helped capture and create the content that inspires policy action. Aside from creating communications and collateral materials, I helped tell those compelling tales, particularly those that would galvanize climate action programs within Pacific Ocean communities.
My focus: define the most important narrative threads, pull them forward, weave them into milestone events and develop stories to extend
the value of captured content for immediate and future action.
